Nowadays, we want to have everything tailored to our personality. Personal computer, tablet and smartphone with unique applications, original shoes, unique style and everything that looks unusual. Are we so careful while choosing our diet?

Our metabolism, just like our character or personality, has also its individual characteristics. We can feed anyone, but not everyone can be nourished and that makes a huge difference.

An Intruder in the territory

We usually know our blood type; all we need to do is to give a sample of blood and we can learn a lot. What about our metabolism? We often do dozens of food allergy or intolerance tests, but when our body is nourished with wrong fuel, it responds with aggression on each factor, literally. That is why one bite can cause even ten adverse effects. We are wrong when we are focusing on counting calories only, though it is a trend created mainly by media, nutritionists and doctors. While the body senses even a trace amount of an intruder on its territory– a substance in the bloodstream that is harmful for us. Even if something seems to be healthy, trendy, our immune system, as long as it functions properly, is governed by its own laws- it is not counting calories or time. If everything works fine and the body is cleansed, chemicals and other toxins in products will have the same effect on our internal defence system just like a red rag to a bull.

Schemes are inappropriate

Unfortunately, globalization does not take into consideration factors, that have crucial impact on the nature. Inhabitants of our planet can be divided due to their skin type, the construction of the body, place of residence, weather conditions they live in. In multicultural societies, due to their migration, metabolic features typical to given ethnographic groups have been mixed. That is why food recommended and based on a blood type not always matches the metabolic type – it does not match our METABOLIC IQ. As a result of mixing of parents’ genes, anomalies may occur such as: a protein-type human (e.g. Eskimo) who loves to spend time in the sun. Patterns, repeated generally and nutritional recommendations do not include differences in individual metabolic type and they often ignore the fact that products formerly promoted as healthy, nowadays have little in common with health.

n many cases, our body cannot digest them or they can even be a threat to our body. Glucose-fructose syrup or margarine can be an example. For many years, studies have been published showing that only a man is crazy enough to eat processed vegetable TRANS fats. Animals eating them regularly would die. Highly processed grains, GMO seeds and ubiquitous sugar can be a similar threat to the modern world.

Schematic nutritional recommendations do not take into consideration differences in individual metabolic type and they often ignore the fact that the products formerly promoted as healthy, nowadays have little in common with health.

Instinct wins

Back to the point, while looking at the streets of our city, country, continent, it is difficult to imagine that there are cultures in which tumours, diabetes, arthritis, obesity and other “manifestations of civilizations” are unknown. In addition, their traditional menu is far from “healthy” recommendations of the modern world, but people living there have good immune system, they enjoy fullness of health and longevity. Let’s think of Eskimos, whose diet is rich in animal fat and large amounts of meat, still they do not suffer from cardiovascular diseases. Masai, the inhabitants of the Amazon forest or even Swiss Highlanders are also known for their unusual diets and exceptional brawn or mental health. It is he common feature of every healthy culture- when they switch to “civilized” man’s diet, health problems known to developed cultures appear immediately. A good example can be Indians (Native Americans) who have left the reserves to pursue American dream. On the other side: many people from tropical, hot areas and Mediterranean area show natural desire to consume food rich in carbohydrates, such as vegetables, fruits, cereals. They don’t have a need to consume large amounts of animal fats and proteins. While people from regions with difficult conditions of life are not used to have a light, vegetarian diet. Despite globalization and migration, you cannot change nature.

Therefore, one, universal way of nutrition for all does not exist. Animals, while choosing food, do not rely on fashion, ideology or taste. People choose food intuitively or according to recommendations or their knowledge. If they are guided by the instinct and genetic predisposition (e.g. type of metabolism), they have a chance to stay healthy and make the most of their potential..

Metabolic IQ

Today we have smart cars, houses, computers, phones, credit cards, bank accounts but we forget about our internal mechanisms, the knowledge of which makes life much easier. Taking our metabolic IQ into account can save us a lot of ailments common among the inhabitants of large cities, people living out of a suitcase or people constantly traveling in work, who are often forced to eat at a run or in public dinners. If we know what to choose, we have a chance to eliminate stomach problems, harmful effect on skin, leg pain or itchy skin, as well as bloating, constipation and heartburn.

Generally accepted schemes do not work. Seemingly stodgy food is difficult to digest by people with the type of carbohydrate metabolism – a slow burner. Such a person, while eating e.g. the most sophisticated Argentine steak will feel heavily or can falls into melancholy and in the extreme type, he/she can become even slightly depressed. He/she should avoid heavy high-purine proteins and fats. On the other hand, for a protein metabolism type, products seemingly easy-to-digest e.g. sweet salads can become a horror. Such a person is deprived of energy, concentration, these products can even cause aggression. A protein type burns carbohydrates so quickly that their consumption without proteins or fats can cause sugar level spikes and constant hunger.

We are wrong when we are focusing on counting calories only, though it is a trend created mainly by media, nutritionists and doctors. Understanding our Metabolic IQ will bring us many more benefits.

It may seem ridiculous, but we do not realize how serious a threat to our mental and physical health a wrong diet can be. Eating meals not compatible with our metabolic intelligence can affect the quality of our work, efficiency in carrying out daily chores, concentration, social life, and even relationships.

In order to get to know our metabolic IQ, all we need is to fill out a simple test that will assess our overall abilities and assign us to one of the three main groups of metabolism, each of which has a different tolerance to different foods. Basically, there are three types of metabolism: carbohydrate, protein, and mixed.

The most common differences can be found among the mixed type, where the person, depending on his/her personal traits, can lean more toward the carbohydrate or protein type. If you are a type of carbohydrate metabolism, this does not mean that you’re the same as everyone else with this metabolic type, you can response to diet differently; your strength, weakness, energy level, appetite level and many other characteristics can be different, too. Every person is unique, also in the context of the individual metabolic type.

METABOLIC INTELLIGENCE (MIQ)

The most common symptoms that are not associated with a lack of knowledge of Metabolic IQ:

  • Lack of energy, lack of concentration.
  • Problems with the digestive tract.
  • Allergies, hypertension, mood swings.
  • The use of popular diets with no results.
  • Confusion in the face of conflicting advices given by consecutive nutritionists, specialists.

Benefits from the knowledge and awareness of Metabolic IQ:

  • Adapting diets to meet the specific needs of your body.
  • Achieving ideal weight and maintaining it effortlessly.
  • Outburst of energy and well-being.
  • Strengthening of the immune system of the body.
  • Elimination of indigestion, fatigue and allergies.
  • Overcoming depression, anxiety and mood changes.

Defining one’s metabolic type is based on the holistic approach to each individual.  By using the vast scope of information included in the science of medicine, biology, biochemistry, psychology or genetics a holistic systemic outline can be developed for each individual. Such individual approach is much more important that the disease name or the set of symptoms. It is not a new approach; however, with the development of science it can become an increasingly more precise tool.

Already in the 4th century BC Hippocrates divided patients into particular types. As the father of medicine he would say that “It was much more crucial to know the particular patient type suffering from a disease, rather than to know the particular disease of such patient”. The Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, homeopathy or healers of various cultures have always referred to dividing people into individual types, as a means of adjusting an appropriate diet and selecting an effective therapy.

Even though over 30 years ago The World Health Organization concluded that each disease starts at the cell level, we keep treating our bodies as if we were built from pieces of metal or wood connected with screws …

While all our individual features have their patterns in the biochemistry of the human body. Each living organism tries to keep the balance, which is why our condition is the final outcome of significantly individualized homeostasis status.

The heritage from our ancestors includes weaknesses or strengths that diversify our autonomic nervous system, the oxidation speed, the balance of catabolic and anabolic processes and the endocrine system. The autonomic nervous system controls all the reflective functions of the body; it determines the heartbeat, respiration, digestion, reproductive functions and immunological reactions. The oxidation and catabolic – anabolic processes determine the quality and quantity of the energy generated, while the endocrine system influences our metabolism, controlling the tissue and cell activity. By evaluating the performance of these systems, specialists are able to determine dysfunctions resulting in the body imbalance.

According to the principles of biology, nutrition is a process of supplying all the substances necessary for life. If just one of the essential nutrients is systematically omitted or not supplied in adequate quantity, then the body does not fully absorb the others. As an effect, due to the shortage of the necessary feedstock and energy, and due to the excess of toxins, our cells cease to operate properly. Most often the common symptoms of tiredness appear, such as headaches, nervousness, insomnia, feeling generally unwell.

In such situation, in order to help ourselves, we increase the intake of various medicines that temporarily eliminate the upsetting symptoms. As a result, despite the momentary improvement of our condition, the core cause of the health problems, i.e. the malnourishment, remains unsolved. After some time the adverse symptoms reoccur in an intensified way. And then, step by step, the system immunity decreases, resulting in infections, allergies, hypertension, weight increase, depressive disposition, and the whole range of other commonly known ailments. Then the symptoms recede again for some time, but the disease keeps developing. After some time the tired and unhappy cells rebel, making as aware of a crisis – such as heart attack, brain stroke, diabetes, osteoporosis, rheumatism, degeneration, tumours, etc. With malnutrition, sooner or later, everyone starts to get ill.

Our predecessors used to have simple and modest, yet healthy eating profile. They would eat natural food originating from the place of their residence, based on intuition, habits and tradition. It is hardly conceivable that an Eskimo would eat rootlets and the greens, while an equatorial zone inhabitant would be fed with seal meat and fish oil. At that time most probably the metabolic types used to align with the blood group determined diet.

Nowadays, as a result of ages of people migration, these dependences have been “blended”. More and more often you can see persons with the blood group suggesting e.g. vegetarian diet and with the metabolic type for an Eskimo, or the other way round.

With time the old good habits got completely blurred and food became readily available at any time of the day and the year. We have started to eat new, pretty, colourful, artificial but unhealthy food. As a result we eat a lot of highly processed, artificially preserved, coloured food, canned or ready-made dishes and heated in microwave ovens. Additionally we eat massive quantities of white bread, sweets, salt, soya, powder milk and eggs and the bad fat, bombarding our body with gluten, sugar and TRANS fatty acids. We drink too much of various junk beverages, not only deprived of any nutritional value, but also containing significant quantities of glucose-fructose syrup, chemical colorants,  flavour and fragrance additives, and food preservatives.

We are getting more and more lost amid the endorsed diet theories  vegetarian, high carb, high protein, low calories, slimming, anti-aging, high calories diet…. etc., forgetting completely that food is not meant to junk the body and that it needs to be individually selected, depending on our current health condition and genetic disposition.

In order to purify and regenerate our bodies we need to use the same nutrients (proteins, carbohydrates and fats) that our ancestors did, rather than highly processed products with similar names, but often mere approximates of the natural ones. Natural food additives and diversified organic supplements are meant to help us in the regeneration, but they cannot replace normal food.  As a result of years of going astray, with bad nutrition, many of us live below our genuine, genetically determined health capacity. The signals sent out by our body are very frequently the call for „the right fuel for your engine type”.

There is no one miracle diet for everyone. Based on the research each of us is a specific metabolic individual. What we eat determines our condition, both in the mental and physical aspect. The food, depending on the metabolism type, impacts our life attitude, aggression, calmness, cheerfulness, good night rest, etc. That is why conscious change of  one’s diet results in eliminating adverse symptoms, overcoming various ailments, boosting one’s energy and effective weight control.

TO FIND OUT YOUR APPROXIMATE METABOLIC TYPE, DO THE TEST

METABOLIC IQ – PERSONAL METABOLISM. WHAT ABOUT THIS TYPE ?

“What for one person is the food for another’s poison”

Without a doubt, in highly developed countries human individuality is the price. After we have been flooded by mono-culture consumption, today we want to have everything tailored to our personality. Personal computer, tablet and smartphone with unique applications, original shoes, unique style and everything that unusual.

And do we choose the diet as carefully ?

Just like our character, soul and personality, our metabolism also has individual characteristics, maybe we may feed everybody the same, but do not NOURISH, and it is a huge difference. Most of us know your blood type, and if not it is enough to take blood and you know everything. And how is it with metabolism ?

Often we do dozens of allergy tests, food tests, for all kinds of intolerance, and when the body is fed with an incorrect fuel, it begins to react with aggression literally on each factor. So one bite = ten symptoms; because for us ie. for our well-being, counts how much we ate, but for the body, is important even a trace amount of an intruder in the territory, which are unfavorable substances for Us in the bloodstream.

Although for Us something may seem that it is supposed to be healthy, fashionable, etc. The immune system, as long as works, has its own rules – does not count neither calories, nor does look at the clock whether struck 18:00 already. Also in the second case, if everything works fine and we do the body detox, chemicals and other toxins contained in the products will act on our internal defense system like a red rag to a bull. Unfortunately, globalization does not take into consideration factors, which are ruled by nature. We have always divided the citizens of the planet into groups because of race, physique, place of residence, because of weather conditions in which they lived, etc. As a result of migration, multicultural societies, also typical metabolic characteristics of ethnographic groups have been mixed.

Therefore, for example, the recommended food groups based on the blood type are not always compatible with the metabolic type. As a result of mixing of the parents’ genes, such anomalies can occur as for example a person of the protein type (called the Eskimo), who loves exposure to the sun. Generally, repeated schemes and dietary recommendations do not take into account the differences in the metabolism of individuals, but also often forget that the products previously promoted as healthy, today often do not have much to do with nature and food – often only a name. In many cases, the human body cannot digest them, or they are a threat to their health.

An example are high fructose corn syrup or margarine. For a long time scientific studies have been published  saying that only man is crazy enough to eat processed vegetable fats called TRANS, because if they would feed the pigs with it, they died after 24 hours or after few days.

Regarding the syrupentire United States of America are already floating in it, and corn syrup has even exceeded the borders with Mexico, which was ranked at position 1 in the World in terms of obesity – 32.8% of the population! (UN report).

Going back to metabolism, looking at the streets of our city, country, continent and even further, it is hard to imagine that there are cultures where cancer, diabetes, arthritis, obesity and other “signs of civilization” are unknown. Furthermore their native menu is far from the healthy” recommendations of the modern World, and yet they enjoy a high resistance of immunity system, the fullness of health and longevity.

Let’s think about Eskimos, who, despite a diet rich in animal fat and large quantities of meat, do not have to deal with cardiovascular diseases. From an unusual diet and exceptional physical and mental vigor also famous are Maasai people; the inhabitants of Amazonian Forest, and even the Swiss mountaineers. The common characteristic of super-healthy cultures – in the passage on a “civilized” man diet,  immediately health problems appear – commonly present among the cultures of developing and highly developed countries.

A good example are the Indians (Native Americans), who have left the Wildlife Areas for the American Dream. The contrary to those listed regions, many people from tropical areas, hot and from the Mediterranean shows inborn desire to consume foods rich in carbohydrates such as vegetables, fruits, cereals. Organisms of those people do not have the need to consume large amounts of fats and animal proteins. While people from regions with difficult living conditions are not adapted to light, vegetarian diet. Despite globalization and migration we cannot change nature.

Thus there is no single, universal way of nutrition for all people. Animals selecting foods do not follow the fashion, ideology, neither taste palate. Man chooses food intuitively or in accordance with the instructions, his knowledge or other people’s. If guided by the instinct and genetic predisposition (including type of metabolism) has a chance to stay healthy and make maximum use of his potential.
